Rhodocrosite is a salmon colored stone that comes from Argentina, Peru, Mexico, Chile and the United States. It has only been on the market since about 1950 and was discovered as stalagmites in the silver mines. It gets its color from manganese and is banded with white streaks. It has a hardness of 4 and is set in sterling silver.
